Special Cranberry Sauce

This Cranberry sauce recipe is liked by the adults and kids alike. The traditional cranberry sauce is tart and slightly bitter for some palates. This recipe adds orange juice and optionally, Grand Marnier. It is more balanced and has a wonderful orange flavor along with the cranberry taste.

1 package fresh or frozen cranberries
1 cup of sugar
½ cup orange juice
½ cup water
1 Tablespoon Grand Marnier

Dissolve sugar, orange juice, and water in medium saucepan. Bring to a boil and stir in cranberries and Grand Marnier. Turn down heat and simmer until the cranberries start to pop. This takes about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and put sauce in a bowl and cover. The sauce thickens as it cools.
