Chicken Teriyaki Marinade

2/3 cup soy sauce
¼ cup honey
2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger root
3 Tablespoons dry sherry
½ cup salad or olive oil
¼ cup thinly sliced green onion

Combine and whisk all ingredients above. Pour over chicken and turn pieces to coat chicken on all sides. Cover and refrigerate (or preferably place in a zip-lock bag) for 2-4 hours.

Drain chicken and place on the grill. Cook with skin side down first and then turn over. Be sure to watch meat so that it doesn’t burn because there is honey in the marinade. Total grilling time for chicken is about 35-40 minutes depending on size of chicken pieces.

You can bake the chicken in the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit if you prefer for about 40 minutes.

Marinade can be used for lamb, chicken, pork etc.
