Christmas Orange Balls

These are not like the typical rum balls that are made during the holidays.  This recipe uses orange juice concentrate and even the children like these.  They are easy to make and fun for the holidays.  I prefer to use pecans but walnuts work well also.

4 cups Vanilla Wafers
1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
1 cup chopped nuts (pecan or walnuts)
¼ cup butter or margarine, melted
1 can orange juice concentrate, 6 oz. size

Place the vanilla wafers in a plastic bag, seal the bag, and crush wafers with a rolling pin. (Use another technique if you have one that works better).

Place the crushed vanilla wafers in a large mixing bowl.  Add powdered sugar and nuts. Mix well.  Add the melted butter and mix well.  Add the orange juice and mix well again.  Chill the dough for several hours in the refrigerator to allow the moisture to absorb into the wafers.

Make ½ inch balls and serve as is or roll balls in powdered sugar if desired OR in very finely chopped pecans.
